Serving bowl The bowl was actually smaller than I thought. It is a beautiful bowl and like all the other pieces in this Winterberry collection I have purchased the quality is second to none. A delightful addition.

Pfaltzgraff Winterberry dinnerware I ordered a total of 12 piece place setting and several extra pieces including the Winterberry Oval Vegetable Bowl. The Pfaltzgraff Winterberry is beautiful. If only the last box of a 4 place settings had been packed properly it could of arrived intact. Two boxes were packed great with no breakage. The third box had no protective packing at all and a cup was smashed in shipment. Cannot get cup replaced without returning entire package of 4 place setting. Cost to ship it is more than cup so I did not send it back. So now I have a beautiful place setting for 12 minus one cup. Yes Pfaltzgraff Winterberry is beautiful and well made. Highly recommend the dinnerware.
Great gift for one who enjoys the Pfaltzgraff line. My daughter really liked this piece. It's the right size for a vegetable for 46 people and adds color to an elegant dinner table. It's especially nice for Christmas.
Beautiful one quart bowl I just received my oval vegetable bowl and was surprised to read on the box 1 Qt 1.4L when Amazon's description says it's 1.5 quart. I measured it's capacity and if you fill it to the very brim it does hold 1.5 qt. I suspect now that the round vegetable bowl which amazon says is 1 qt is really just as big as this one. The bowl is beautiful and I'm happy with the purchase.

Good Set Good Service This piece arrived intact. The Winterberry set is very nice. Amazon customer service is very helpful but I did need to use them. I bought this with a complete set of service for 8. The service for 8 arrived in two boxes and many of the plates were chipped and a couple were broken. The return process with Amazon is very customerfriendly. They shipped a replacement immediately. The replacements were intact yay. Unfortunately I did have some problems with the return as well. Read on gentle review purveyor. I used the online tools to print a set of return labels but failed to print two copies since I had to ship back two boxes. Once I realized my error I returned to the site to print additional labels. According to some text either in an email from Amazon or on the web site I could simply return to the site to print any additional labels. But once there it led me through the full process of entering the order number and such for the labels that I was going to be returning. I had misgivings about doing this turns out my misgivings were deadon accurate. So instead I contact Amazon customer support by phone. Well the gentleman was helpful although a bit difficult to decipher due to his accent and indicated that he would mail me additional labels. Based on the speed of receiving everything else from Amazon I figured they'd be there in a couple of days. I never did receive them but I had the bright idea of using my scanner/printer as a photocopier. Well duh I should've done that to start with. Oh well. Once I returned the items I got an email indicating that Amazon had received my return. I thought that was the end of it. Nope I just got an email a few days ago ok as of 1/15/2007 that said that since it had been more than 30 days since the replacement item was sent and that they hadn't received the return yet that they were going to charge my credit card for the $109.99. Yikes! Well another call to customer service got that refunded. I must say that the young lady I talked to this time around was very helpful and had no communication problems due to foreign accent. I believe that there is a bug in the software that Amazon is using that caused this snafu. It logged duplicate return requests remember when I called and the rep ordered additional return labels for me? for the same order number.

Pfaltzgraff Traditions Weave Dinnerware Set, 40 Piece, Service for 8 Horrible Quality Very Disappointed in Pfaltzgraff I asked for this set for Christmas. When I received it I was so excited since I've always enjoyed Pfaltzgraff dishes. When I opened the box I was horrified by the quality. The glaze on the mugs was only partially done. The handles were not glazed and most of the mugs were chipped and you could see where the glaze ran and dripped. When I checked out the plates you could see places all over where the glaze didn't cover entirely. I am extremely disappointed in Pfaltzgraff. I can understand a problem happening when the dishes were made but how they could let this go through inspection is beyond me. The dishes also said Made in China which was new to me. Guess I may go with good ol' reliable Corelle from now on.Update I took the set back to the store and picked up another box hoping that maybe the set I got was just a lemon. Nope the other box was just as bad.
Very pleased. I purchased Pfaltzgraff Traditions Weave Dinnerware Service for 8. I used it for about a week was very happy with it and then purchased a second service for 8 to use when we have guests in an informal setting. I think the person who wrote initially must have just gotten a 'lemon'. So sorry for her. And I do recommend this simple clean pattern that goes with just about everything.

Breaks and chips too easily I thought when one buys Pfaltzgraff they're getting quality dinnerware. Nope! Not this one. Garden Path chips way too easily breaks in the microwave and gets too hot to handle out of the microwave. In fact most of the food isn't even cooked enough but the plate needs a potholder to take it out of the microwave! This is only after about a minute or two on high! I've only had my set for a year. I can't believe Pfaltzgraff is still selling this on their website.
large size pieces I bought this set when it was on sale for $30. Much nicer than expected mugs hold over 2 cups liquid bowls are nice and big for cereal. The small plates are large enough to eat a small meal and the large plate won't fit in my small 700 watt microwave.The other reviewer complained about chipping the instructions say don't soak fully immersed in water as the bottom has an area that can absorb water which can lead to cracking chipping.But they are not 'heavy' stoneware and seem more brittle than heavier stoneware.
glaze cracked within a month I received this set as a gift. Loved the colors. The deep bowls work well for serving but take up a lot of room in the dishwasher.Within a month the glaze cracked in several pieces. Since Pfaltzgraff is no longer made in the United States I was concerned about the safety of continuing to use them and I got rid of the set. I don't recommend buying this product.
Chip too easily I actually bought these dishes from Macy's. It is a pretty pattern but they started chipping right away. I haven't had these dishes for 6 months and most of them have chips some are very obvious and some are on the bottom. The plates are a good size the mugs are a good size but I think the bowls could be a tad smaller. The bowl is huge. That aside it is very dissapointing because next year if I want decent dishes I am going to have to start over and hopefully find some that will hold up better. I used a gift certificate to buy these but paid almost $200 for them. I bought 3 sets thinking long term to have plenty. This is the first dish set I bought for myself at age 38 always had hand me downs and it is a huge disappointment.
disappointed We bought two sets and have had this brand before but this set did not last. The dishes get overly hot in the microwave even less than one minute time. The dishes broke very easily sometimes after being in microwave or in the dishwasher. The bowls did hold up better but there was something wrong with the plates. We are now replacing the set after only using it a few months as so many plates have broken and we are tired of getting burned from the microwave.

Horrible. chips easily hotter than food in microwave just not good Absolutely not good for the microwave. The cup/bowl/plate & serving bowls all get hotter than the food in them! Sometimes on really cold mornings in the house I have actually heated up the cup in the microwave BEFORE putting my coffee in it.
Nice style but DO NOT use in microwave Love the look of these dishes but the smaller plates & bowls heat up if used in the microwave for even a short period of time. How that qualifies as microwave safe is puzzling to us.
Big and Beautiful but Buyer Beware These dishes were fine for the fist six months. After that every time you picked them up they would chip. After a year of using these dishes the chips were too numerous to continue using. Sent them back to Pfaltzgraff.Also the dinner plates were oversized and would not fit in dishwasher microwave nor cabinets!If you buy them they are not to be used as everyday dishes.

I've never had a problem with any Pfaltzgraff stoneware. Attractive and hardy.1/19/2012I've since noticed this pattern and other stoneware in thrift shops and they usually have utensil marks which are a pain to clean off like cleaning silverware. I just replaced a Noritake set of stoneware because of how often I had to scrub off these marks. They started showing up after a few years of daily use. I won't change my rating but wanted other buyers to be aware of this particular issue with stoneware in general.
Love that Tea Rose I have finally found my favorite dish set.Pfaltzgraff Tea Rose dinnerware! I have used Corelle dinnerware for most of my life but I found that I like Pfaltzgraff dinnerware better. Pfaltzgraff is a heavier dish and holds the warmth of food better. Because the size of the Tea Rose mugs are a little larger than most they hold more coffee/tea. The mug handle fits either the female or male hand very comfortably.
I must admit that Pfaltzgraff puts out a good product and has done so for a very long time. The dinnerware set is very sturdy and is dishwasher safe which makes it perfect for family use. With the pretty Tea Rose pattern to decorate it the set could be used for a light company dinner. The coffee mugs hold a lot of coffee and are easily held by the handle even when really full. Good balance and it is nice that you don't have to use a saucer with them. I like the scalloped edge on the plates. The cereal bowl/soup bowls hold a good portion and are deep enough that you don't have to worry about liquids spilling.
Pfaltzgraff dishes I needed more dishes to match the two sets I bought years ago. This was perfect. I also like the mugs instead of cups and saucers. Family had grown and I need two more plates. I never thought I could match these. This was perfect.

Oh well now I know why it was such a good price these were Made in China.The 1 Star given doesn't necessarily reflect the over all quality of the product time will tell.
dishes yes they are not made in the usa but they are good quality and great price on amazon plus free shipping which is good. i would buy again.
Very nice! This set of dishes is very nice. They were shipped very well packed. I bought two setsservice for 8. They are somewhat heavy but very pretty.
Newer Made in China pieces are low quality. I have been collecting Tea Rose pieces for 15 years back in the day they were made in the USA. Recently I bought some replacement pieces because I had broken a couple plates and bowls and I am very disappointed to discover the new Made in China pieces are of terrible quality. They scratch very easily dark gray scratches. The old style scratched also but not nearly as bad as the new ones. I have posted a picture showing how dark the scratches are on the new plate vs the old plate. They sell porcelain polish that will supposedly take the scratches off but who wants to polish their dishes with porcelain polish every time you use them? I so want to get a different set of dishware now but unfortunately I have a LOT of Tea Rose pieces that I will have to replace. I guess I will hunt on Ebay for some of the older Made in the USA pieces.
